DIY Pizza Bagels Recipe

Ingredients

For the Base:

  • 2 whole wheat or plain bagels sliced in half
  • ½ tbsp olive oil for brushing

For the Pizza Sauce:

  • ½ cup pizza sauce store-bought or homemade
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes optional for heat

For the Toppings:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup pepperoni slices or meat-free alternative
  • ¼ cup sliced bell peppers mushrooms, or olives
  • 1 tbsp parmesan cheese optional
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prep the Bagels

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). If using an air fryer, set it to 370°F (188°C).
  • Slice bagels in half and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Lightly brush olive oil over each bagel half to help them crisp up.

Step 2: Add Sauce & Cheese

  • Mix pizza sauce with oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
  • Spread 1-2 tablespoons of sauce onto each bagel half.
  • Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

Step 3: Add Toppings & Bake

  • Top with pepperoni slices, mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives—get creative!
  • Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or air fry for 7-9 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  • Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil or extra parmesan, and enjoy!
